Wolds WindFarm Opposition News    30 March 2006
Who are we ?
Whilst WWFO was formed by residents of Skerne, it was always intended that it should offer a facility for those opposed to the windfarm in all the affected communities surrounding the site and beyond.
We are therefore pleased to announce, as a result of the open meetings, a group of residents representing Hutton Cranswick have joined the committee of WWFO to team up with existing representatives from Skerne, Hutton, Watton and Watton Carrs. This also meets the objective that the organisation should be made up of representatives of each of the communities affected and will enable the development of a strong team and pooling of resources to meet the challenges ahead.
It is also our intention to establish two way communications with residents and as a result we will be producing a regular news bulletin and launching a web site. In addition we will shortly publish contact details of a primary contact person within each community.

In the meantime please contact us by phone on 01377 253252 or email info@wwfo.co.uk

Test Anemometer – Planning application refused
The planning application for a test anemometer, intended to evaluate the wind on the proposed windfarm site, was rejected by the East Riding Planning Committee at their meeting last Monday 20th March.
Chris Wilson who represented WWFO and spoke against the application said the main grounds for refusal were loss of visual amenity for  residents and the 233 objections received were crucial in obtaining the decision.
Clearly a big thank you must go to residents of Hutton Cranswick who contributed significantly to this number and the part played by the  open meetings to raise awareness of the proposal.
